This past week I have been lucky enough to taste and create recipes with some incredible homemade jams and jellies from Joyful Jars! Joyful Jars is owned and operated by my friend Emma’s sister, Misty, and she was kind enough to send me some samples of her incredibly special homemade treats! Misty has turned her lifelong passion and incredible talent into a full time job perfecting inspired seasonal spreads in the form of jams, jellies and marmalades!
Misty grew up on a farm in Ohio where she gained her appreciation for the love and care that makes everything scratch-made taste that much better. She uses only farm fresh, seasonal and organic fruits and vegetables in her jams. She also keeps them light on the sugar. They are just sweetened enough so that the beautiful flavor of the fruit is allowed to shine without being cloying. So well crafted!
I used her Blueberry Lemonade Jam, Carrot Cake Jam, Black Jack Berry Jelly and Red Onion Marmalade to create some truly amazing dishes and cocktails! That’s right, cocktails!! I hope that my recipes allow these jams, jellies and marmalades to reach their fullest potential and I hope they inspire you to play with jams in your kitchen!
